The Thomson Hood Veterans Center is looking for self-motivated energetic Facility Maintenance Worker II.
Skills and expectations for this position include but are not limited to:
Coordinates and performs the work of employees and assist the supervisor in the maintenance ofbuildings.
Operation of electrical systems, plumbing systems, sewer and associated equipment.
Performs other duties as required.
The ideal candidate will work within a team-centered environment to meetour commitment to serving Kentucky Veterans by fostering Independence, preserving Dignity, and providingCompassionate Care.
Minimum RequirementsEDUCATION:
NONEEXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS:
One year of building maintenance, grounds maintenance, general trades, skilled trades, moving services, or mechanical maintenance experience.
Substitute EDUCATION for
Experience:
Formal training in one of the above or related fields will substitute for the experience on a year-for-year basis.
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION:
NONESPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.
):
Must be 18 years of age.
Working ConditionsIncumbents in this job title may be exposed to extreme temperatures which requires the following of safety procedures.
Must follow safety procedures, such as utilization of eye and ear protection, when utilizing certain mechanical equipment.
Probationary PeriodThis job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.
